Our Test Prep Services

SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, and more...

Gaining an advantage on major tests can make a life-changing difference. An improvement of a few points could result in the college acceptance or scholarship that enables a student to achieve her dreams. Students who have prepared for the SAT, ACT, ISEE, and CAHSEE with Learning Period tutors have seen outstanding results, and our in-home services and flexible schedule make it easy to fit tutoring into your busy life.

Test Prep Customized to Your Needs!

Our knowledgeable tutors can serve as your guide to the whole testing process. It can be overwhelming to figure out the SAT versus the ACT, what each one measures, and how colleges perceive each one. Your tutor will take the time to get to know each student's goals, and advise them about tests are best for them.

Test prep sessions include a blend of subject matter review and testing strategies. Our tutors understand the structure and scoring of each test and equip test-takers with inside knowledge of how to maximize their score. Every test-prep tutor has scored in the 90th percentile or above on the test they tutor for, so they can tell students exactly what to expect and how to succeed.

SAT tutoring is our most frequent request, and seventy-seven percent of our students scored 1800 or above this past year. For the best SAT preparation, we recommend 20 hours of tutoring, which includes several practice tests, detailed practice test review, content review, and, of course, testing strategies.

Practice tests are a key part of test preparation, and we offer practice tests straight from The College Board and additional tests of our own. This means that your student will have ample opportunity to learn the testing format, identify and eliminate any weak areas, and practice test-taking strategies. We don't charge for practice test taking time; every minute you pay for is a minute our tutor is interacting with your student. When practice tests are complete, our tutor will review them with your student question by question.

If 20 hours of tutoring isn't feasible, even a single session can produce results. In just one hour, a tutor can provide a wealth of potent test-taking strategies that a test-taker can apply immediately. Whether your student spends one hour or 20 hours with a Learning Period tutor, he will be prepared to face major tests with confidence.
